Based out of Redding, California, we had the privilege of launching a new website for an incredible organization: The Cause, Inc. What they’re doing is powerful.

The Cause comes alongside missionaries and faith-driven organizations, providing the financial, structural, and operational support those on the front lines need so they can stay focused on ministry instead of administration.

Behind the scenes, they’re supporting:

  • 100+ partners
  • Across 22+ countries
  • Reaching over 2 million lives
  • Sharing the Gospel with 40,000+ people

Why this site had to do more than look good

The story The Cause tells on the new site is “The Cost of Going Alone”: every month, roughly 1,500 North American ministry workers leave their work, in part to burnout. The whole organization exists to lift that weight off Kingdom leaders. The website had to do the same job in digital form: lift the weight of fundraising, partner visibility, and content management off a small staff so they could spend their time on the mission, not the back end.

What the site needed to do

A website serving a network this large has to do three things well: help donors find a partner whose mission resonates with them, make supporting that partner effortless, and give a small staff the ability to keep everything current without calling a developer.

That guided every decision we made.

Key areas of the website

  • A Meet Our Partners directory, filterable by cause and region, with a dedicated detail page for every ministry, complete with story, photos, and direct donation links.
  • Find Your Cause Quiz: a guided way for new donors to discover the partners they’re called to support.
  • Champion The Cause & Become A Global Ally: pathways that turn one-time visits into long-term partnership.
  • Virtuous CRM+ integration: every donation, signup, and partner update flows into the same donor system the team already trusts.
  • A self-serve content layer: partner page forms, staff bios, Stories blog, training videos, and a Notion hub so the team can run the site confidently long after launch.
  • The technical foundation: a mobile-first, responsive WordPress build on Cloudways hosting, GA4 + GTM (with Feathr for campaign attribution), Search Console, reCAPTCHA, and a structured architecture built to grow with the network.

What the partners are saying

That’s the kind of trust this site exists to deepen, and the kind of work it was a joy to support.

Credit where it’s due

Huge credit to Nick Abrams for the thoughtful, intentional design work and for capturing the heart of the mission beautifully. Huge thanks to Brennan McCandliss, who carried a big share of the development work, and to Jessica Christensen, whose QA caught the small things that separate a site that ships from a site that ships well. We were grateful for the chance to bring it to life through development.

Always thankful for the opportunity to work on projects that go beyond business and into real impact.

What to Look for in a White-Label WordPress Partner

Most agencies evaluate a white-label partner on rates and turnaround, then run into the visibility question later, usually at the worst possible moment. Here is a better order to ask things in, from a developer who has been on the other side of it for 15 years….
